Inexpensive eats and friendly owners

Shimachan is a restaurant in the Agano area of Niigata, and it's run by a friendly elderly couple -- that's just one great reason to stop by, though! The food they serve up is tasty and inexpensive, with menu items like oyakodon, katsudon, fried rice, tempura, and more on the menu. Plenty of side dishes, too! There's a small parking area behind the building, but if you are visiting via public transport the restaurant is just under 20 minutes on foot from Suibara Station. Also, keep in mind they're cash only so have some yen on you!
