For Extreme Line Fans
In the Daimyo neighborhood near Kego Park, on the south west side of Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, I noticed a Line Store. The Line Friends Cafe is a narrow three story shop with expensive character products (think mugs, snacks, phone cases) on the first floor, a cafe on the second floor, and 'yatai' on the third floor- which is just extra cafe seating. A Huge Brown the bear greets visitors at the entrance and staff on the first floor seem friendly. On the second floor, the cafe staff completely ignored me, and there was no staff (or customers) on the third floor. There were a lot of signs in English (reminding the foreigners to behave) but staff didn't try speaking to me in English. Nothing was of much interest to me, especially at the prices they were asking. The cafe was minimum 400 yen for anything, they were sold out of several items and nothing looked good. Normal snacks with special packaging. This is probably best for extreme fans and photo opportunities. I know tons of people use Line, but I don't know of anyone who really loves the characters. I'm a fan of the Line stickers with the Cherry Coco character, but she was no where to be seen. Staff confirmed taking photos wasn't a problem. Besides the huge plush characters, there are plastic life size characters to pose with, a couple of them at fake yatai, and fun decorations, including fake albums with the names and covers changed up to fit the Line theme. I'm more interested to find the Rilakuma Cafe next time I'm in town.
