Specialty wine, sake and beer

On a walk around the Gamo area of Koshigaya City, I spied this shop just south of Gamo Station. Billing itself as a “Liquor Museum and Community Gallery”, I was intrigued. Yatsuka-ya stocks domestic sake, wine and other products. The space is staged and lit like a gallery, with explanatory labels about the origins of the vintages. Besides wines and sake, there is a wide selection of whisky and craft beer. I picked up a bottle of Duvel as a souvenir of my visit. The proprietor is a soft-spoken gentleman. Next time, I’ll come with a list of items for celebrations and ask his advice.
