Yummy Tonkatsu; Inexperienced Staff
My husband insists that we have been to the Narita Airport branch of this specific restaurant chain before, and I tried to explain that I have no recollection of such an outing. Nevertheless, on a recent trip to see the shops that opened in the new massive Aeon Mall in Rifu, we decided to stop for lunch here. I ordered a cutlet with cheese inside which came out very well. Cheese served inside of meat is kind of kit or miss in Japan in my experience, but this was one of the hits. It was actually pretty delicious. This is one of those tonkatsu places that provides you with sesame seeds and a grinder as well as lots of cabbage that can be refilled. They did have an option of two dressings that included a Yuzu blend that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, our waiter was new and completely mixed up our drink order, but we managed to enjoy your time there anyway. Handling on the katsu sauce pot was a little bit difficult to get the hang of. I recommend using both hands. The lid fell off into my sesame and made my meal a little bit less special. I did like the atmosphere, which included ornate wood carvings hanging overhead and behind plexiglass so they weren't shown off in the way that I think such splendid pieces of art should be. Not a bad time, all in all. Reasonably priced.
