Bagels!
In the mood for a tasty bagel? Perhaps a muffin or a bagel-sandwich? If you're near Sendai station, the end of your quest for carbohydrate induced nourishment is as easy as a trip downstairs. At the basement level of Sendai Station, you'll find a fairly large SPAL kitchen area, offering a variety of small food shops. Near the exit to the JR lines underground walkway sits Bagel Bagel, a place that sells a decent variety of (surprise!) bagels that fresh and wrapped in cellophane to prevent going stale in this too-humid climate. Sandwiches, muffins, and beverages are all on the menu as well. If you have a moment, you can sit in the cozy but fashionable little dining area and enjoy your carbohydrate of choice. You can also get the bagels to go, though the tiny tubs of flavored cream cheese are a little pricey for what they are. My personal favorite is the blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese, but with so many options to choose from, you're sure to find a favorite all your own.
