Interesting historical building with free admission

Matsue's Kounkaku sits on the grounds of Matsue Castle, and was originally built back in 1903 to host the Emperor of Japan at the time. These days, the building is simply there to appreciate -- it was designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by Shimane Prefecture back in 1968. Admission is free, so if you're in the area anyway visiting the castle, it's a nice addition to check out. Personally I didn't need more than about 15 minutes exploring it, but still worth a visit!
