Yatai Stalls Fukuoka

Honest opinion? Overrated.

I’d heard so much about the yatai stalls in Fukuoka being a must visit in the city but I felt rather underwhelmed when I visited. Maybe this was once a fun place to visit but I felt like it was crazily commercialized and didn’t seem to have any heart or soul anymore. The prices for the place we went to were pretty expensive too - not street food prices but more in line with fancy restaurant prices! I’d prefer to find somewhere more off the beaten path if I was back in Fukuoka, I feel like maybe this was once something that had that vibe but these days it seems to have lost the charm it was revered for.
