Nakago Green Park

Beautiful open space with art installations and on-site cafe

The Nakago Green Park is a wide open space in Niigata which offers plenty of room for your children to stretch their legs and run around, as well as putt-putt golf (and full size golf facilities too), and a cafe and restrooms on site. One of the most interesting things about the park here is that they are home to the Satoyama Art Zoo, which is part of the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale. The Art Zoo consists of a range of art pieces made of different mediums, and there are everything from salamanders made of wire to bulls made of hay. If you drive to the park itself there is vehicle parking (free) at the venue. If you're headed there by public transport it's a little trickier - train to Tokamachi Station, bus from Tokamachi to Motomachi Bus Stop, and then about 10 minutes on foot from there.
