Suited to swimming and sand play
There are dozens of great beaches in Okinawa. This one was on our route and we stopped off to watch the sunset, which was spectacular. It was quiet when we visited, with only a handful of other people there. There are facilities, including showers, which are useful after swimming in the sea or the kids playing with the sand. Free parking.

Pleasant and quiet beach
Our favorite Okinawan beach will probably always be Okuma Beach - lots of happy family memories there! However, we also really like Koki Beach in Nago. It was quiet on our visit, and there's easy free parking right by it too, which makes it ultra easy if you're driving around the island. If you're staying in the area, there are some hotels close by too, including a Best Western chain.
