A fun photo op
I'm not a big fan of anime/manga, so I probably don't geek out enough about this statue, but I still think it's cool from a fun photo op point of view. Every time I've had a friend or family member come to Tokyo, it's been on their "to-visit" list, if that gives some indication of how iconic it now is. Odaiba has plenty of fun things to see and do, and I think if you're in the area this should be on your itinerary too, if for no other reason than to have a slice of over the top, quirky Japan.

Odaiba Life-size Unicorn Gundam
You do not need to be a fan or even know anything about the anime to appreciate a life-size robot that stands right in front of a shopping mall. The Unicorn Gundam (also known as RX-0 for the fellow nerds) is a landmark that you should check out when visiting Odaiba. Check the schedule online to see when it will transform, and you will be presented with a short segment watching it transform between two modes and two colours. It is awesome to see both day and night time, so stick around to see it in the dark too!
