    More for locals

HEP Five to me, seems like an useful mall for locals with the cinema and scores of shops and restaurants. But I get the feeling it was designed to attract tourists with the Ferris wheel on the roof and the late opening time. There was a time when many malls had some sort of amusement park or ride on the roof of their building, but unfortunately most of them closed over the years. HEP Five's is one of the few remaining which in itself makes it a tourist attraction. The mall is just a 15 minute walk from Umeda Sky Building, so you could pair a visit to both.

    Pleasant mall but opens late

I visited here last year with my daughter, and the mall is very nice - it's probably best known for the ferris wheel attached to the complex which you can pay to ride, and you get a nice view out over the city. The only real downside to me about the mall here is that it opens very late - 11am as a starting open time is tough!

    A Shopping Complex in Umeda

This mall is conveniently located near both Hankyu Umeda and JR Osaka stations. It has dozens of clothes and shoes shops. In addition to restaurants and coffee shops. The goods prices are more expensive if compared to those in Shinsaibashi and Namba areas. Its most iconic symbol is a bright red Ferris wheel on its roof, accessible from HEP Five's 7th floor. With a small fee of 500 yen, and a height of 106 meters above ground, I appreciated a splendid view of downtown, of Osaka harbor, and all the way out to Mount Ikoma.
