The most reasonably priced outdoor play area ever!

Fujisan kodomo no kuni is a huge resort with indoor and outdoor play areas, canoeing, wood crafting, campsite with yurts, hotel and so much more. You don't need to book to use the play areas, but the campsite and hotel require booking. Due to the exceptionally low price of both, it is very hard to get a booking in season. However, there are other places you can stay in the area and just enjoy a day trip to the extensive children's kingdom at the foot of Mt Fuji. The park is huge. You would need a full day to walk to each area and enjoy what is on offer. One of the most popular attractions is the canoeing in the "water country" area, which is covered by the entry fee. During Golden Week and Obon you normally have to queue to get a chance to take the canoes out. Beside the canoes there are great splash pools and wading rivers with a large sand pit on one side. They have toys in both areas that you can use for free. There are also showers here so you can rinse off after water play. Another popular attraction is the woodwork area where you can buy all you need to make something out of wood. They have professionals on hand to help you out and guide you if you are an absolute beginner. As far as I know they speak Japanese only. Another popular area is the farm, where you can get up close and personal with many of the animals. One of the times we were there they had panda mice for the kids to hold, also included in the entry price. They have lots of play area including a spider net climbing area and stone slides. The park is open from 9 am to 5 pm from April to September, arrive early to ensure a parking spot even though they have parking for thousands of cars. From October to March the park closes an hour earlier.
