Adorable latte art in a trendy premises

When I moved out to Niigata Prefecture, I guess I wasn't holding out a lot of hope that there would be much of a coffee scene out here - but I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that there are loads of great coffee shops in this part of Japan. One of those quirky little finds was Niigata Coffee Donya. Part of what makes this spot particularly unique is that the store premises is housed within a shipping container! It makes for some quirky surrounds (plus I just thought the "upcycling" nature of using a shipping container for a store was pretty neat). As well as having adorable and reasonably priced latte art that tastes good, they also have a variety of beans that you can buy to take home with you - and even things like French Press coffee filters. Even if not for yourself, they're things that make for good gifts! Niigata Coffee Donya are open from 10am until 6.30pm, 7 days a week.
