Unfortunately Seibu Hon Kawagoe PePe at Seibu Hon-Kawagoe station closed permanently on January 13th 2026 after 34 years of business. The space, prime retail, which eventually become something else, but we don't know what yet. There are rumors that PePe will reopen in the new building, but that is only speculation.

Improved over the years
PePe is the name of the department store that runs into Hon-Kawagoe station. I've been in and out over the years, but it wasn't great when I first moved here. However, it has improved greatly over the years and is now very convenient. Moreover, it has some nice shops and eateries now too. They are also running more events now than they used to.
