Temple with picturesque higanbana

For quite a few years I had Genshoin on my list of places I wanted to visit for higanbana in Saitama Prefecture and finally got to go last week. It didn't disappoint, but the colony was smaller than I expected. However, the higanbana (red spider lilies) are planted close together making it a lush, dramatic view. There were people visiting graves on the day so I was waited until there was no-one there to take a few photographs. I explored the small temple grounds while waiting. There is a lotus pond out front, which I'd say is beautiful in the summer.
