A third place with wine and tapas

Hakken, meaning discovery, is a recently opened wine and tapas bar on the west side of Edogawadai Station on the Tobu Noda Line. It's shaping up to be a pleasant and relaxing "third place", a space beyond home and the workplace, where locals gather, chat, sample some excellent wine, spirits and craft beer on tap. The space has a warmly lit interior with a bar that seats eight and a lounge area with comfortable sofas. I had a chance to sit and chat with a few elderly folks sharing memories and millennial women planning a music night in the space. The range of European wines is curated by a knowledgeable proprietor and the tapas menu has small portions of imported cheeses and small sides.
