Marine life from the Tama River and beyond

I'm always a fan when aquariums put a focus on local species of marine life, and Kawasui Kawasaki Aquarium does that well, with a specific area about the Tama River. It doesn't stop there, though, and there's definitely a global focus, too. South America, Africa, and a broader Asian section are also featured. There's also a cute gift shop and two cafes (one you can access without needing an admission ticket for the aquarium, the other is available for anyone to visit).

    There are Capybaras

There is a large variety of fish here and you can see them through various colourful displays separated by region, type of water, and environment. Although it’s called an aquarium, there are more than just fish here. You can also see insects, reptiles, and other types of animals as you walk through the exhibits. My personal favourite was visiting the capybaras and the staff allowing you to pet them. There are lots of things to do for the admission fee. If you have children with you, there is a play area in the insects section and the kids can interact with specific bugs. As mentioned earlier, you can visit the capybaras. There is also a periodic show that uses a large backdrop to project 3D images of ocean life as a staff of the aquarium explains trivia and other facts about marine life.
