The Hikarigahara Plateau sits on the border of Niigata and Nagano prefectures, and if you appreciate the beauty one of autumn's underrated gems (susuki, or silver/pampas grass) then this is a nice place to check out. The views are really stunning, and will be even more so as the autumn colors start to pop. Worth a visit if you're in the area at this time of year.
