    Friendly family-run ramen

On the east side of Edogawadai Station in Nagareyama City, there is a low-density shopping street with a few independently-run restaurants and izakayas. Rokka is right on the corner facing the station. The couple that run the ramen shop greet customers with warmth and smiles. They are tolerant of Japanese-language learners. They appear to be Japanese language learners themselves with roots in China. I had a bowl of miso tanmen. The broth was a good balance of umami and tangy and had a creamy quality. The bowl was graced with lots of toppings - veggies and cloud ear mushrooms. The noodles were firm and springy, just right.
