    Old school outdoor railway museum

The Ome Railway Park is an outdoor train museum meets playground. It is aimed at children with lots of rides for them to enjoy. There are a few steam locomotives you can explore as well. There is a shinkansen engine too, but when we visited (February 2018) it was closed for a repaint. The rides in the park are coin operated rides. The entry into the park is very reasonable costing only 100 yen for adults, but then you have to pay 100 to 200 yen per ride. The mini train that goes around a track is good fun. There are a couple of displays inside including a model town that has runs on the half hour. A staff member narrates the train show. At the end a Thomas train and Anpanman train also run around the track. There is free parking, but it is not the space right in front of the museum, although cars park there it is actually a no parking area. The parking is just past the park at the foot of the cliff.
