Roses in bloom right now
Highly recommend a trip here during rose season (late May timeframe), as a previous review had mentioned! It really is stunning, with so many different blooms to appreciate. I've been here in autumn as well, but finally timed it with rose blooming season and it was such a delight to see.

Beautiful open space
Nigorikawa Park is only a couple of minute's drive from the Niigata Rice Cracker Museum, so it makes a nice addition to a day out there. There is a pretty pond area, plenty of tables and benches to sit at, and barbecue facilities available to use. The autumn colors here are very pleasant if you visit around that time of year. If you're driving the closest expressway exit is the Nigorikawa IC.

Nigorikawa Park
Nigorikawa park is a wonderful location in Niigata for BBQ. It has enough space so that even in a busy weekend we could find a place. There is a very green walking trail in the park so that you can enjoy a good fresh walk. It is an exciting place for children because you can meet the lovely fishes in the fish pond, feed them and enjoy your kids being super happy. Other advantage of this park is there is cooking facility as well. You can take your cooking heater and in the areas designed to cook you can start making your fresh meal.They also have a nice rose garden which will perfectly bloom in late May.
