    Temple to the five kings

Godai Myou Ou is a Buddhist temple to the five deities or Myo kings of Buddhism. The temple is unusually named without a ji or tera to indicate that it is a temple like you normally see. The temple is perched on the side of a mountain in the Godaison Tsutsuji Park. It is one of at least three religious buildings in the park. The azalea in the area are famous, but the temple also has some mature cherry blossom trees that bloom in March or April. The temple is open 24 hours, but the car park is closed at night. The parking is usually free, but for a few weeks of the year when the azalea festival is on parking is charged. The area is great for hiking; its a nice spot to add to a hiking trail.
