    Delicious Traditional Japanese Sweets

Iwabuchi is a café in Yamagata City that serves traditional Japanese sweets made from matcha (green tea) and adzuki (red bean). FOOD: We ordered a set dessert. My husband had green tea, which has a thick consistency and has a bright green color. On the other hand, I had green tea and Zenzai, which is a sweet porridge that is made from crushed adzuki beans and serve with mocha. I’m not a fan of the green tea that my husband ordered. It’s really bitter and it makes my mouth really dry. I do like the Zenzai because its sweet flavour wasn’t very overpowering. SERVICE: The staffs were very nice to us. They even lent us a book about tea-making and tried their best to explain everything we asked about the food we had.
