    Memorable wildlife experience

I've been to the Arashiyama Monkey Park twice -- once was in summer, and the second time was in autumn. I'd highly recommend *not* going for the summer option, because getting to the monkey park involves quite the trek up a small mountain. It's miserable to do in the summer heat, but the park itself is a really fun experience where you can see a lot of these amazing creatures up close. You can also go inside a wire-walled building where you can "hand-feed" (in safety!) the monkeys things like apple slices. It's definitely a memorable experience!

    Monkey Park in Hot Springs

Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama Is located in Kyoto. It sits on top of a small mountain and has stunning views of the city. The most unique thing about this monkey park is that for some reason the monkies are attracted to the hot springs that sit on the mountain. The best part about this park is that the monkies walk around and the do not reside in cages. You can even buy monkey food and feed them inside the feeding area. It's a great experience for kids, but make sure you bring plenty of water to drink, as the water and other drinks in the vending machines are overpriced. If you have the endurance to climb up the mountain to the park, then this is an ideal place for you. It's not particularly accessible, and I would advise taking a taxi to the park, and as the park is not very big at all, plan something else to go with the day. The bamboo forest is near by, and the old town has lots of traditional shops.
