Great Lamb Yakinuki
My husband saw a bit about this on TV and decided to take us there on a road trip to Yamagata recently. It was surprisingly good. The tatami room we were led to was old but clean and social distance was in full force with customers positioned far from each other's tables. The house special, a miso sauce and thinly sliced mutton with cabbage cooked by customers wt the table in the traditional yakiniku style, was surprisingly delicious. Usually not a fan of miso, I was taken aback by how delicious I found this to be. Even my daughter, who has disliked mutton at every previous serving, enjoyed this immensely. It was a great time, fairly affordable, and safe as well as truly delicious.
