    Icecream on the Go

Blue Seal is THE ice-cream chain in Okinawa, and their location at the kokusai dori is great for grabbing an icecream to go after a meal somewhere. Since I always walk through the kokusai dori shopping street, I always know that I will be walking around long enough before hopping back onto public transportation. The many flavours they offer also mean that I will always have something new to try every time I visit. It is always a treat!

    Okinawan Salt Cookie flavor forever

When in Okinawa I feel like Blue Seal is something of an institution, and we make it a priority to stop in and get some of our favorite flavors. The previous review has all the essential information about this store location, but if you want a flavor recommendation, our family's favorite is without a doubt the Okinawan Salt Cookie variety. It's so good. Pop in and get some Blue Seal when you're in Okinawa - your tastebuds will thank you!

Small branch of the famous Okinawa ice cream chain in central Naha

Some branches of ice crea Blue Seal in Okinawa have the look and feel of an American diner. Not so this small branch on Naha’s Kokusai Dori which seems to be keeping things just about the ice cream. The main appeared to be the same as with other branches of Blue Seal in Okinawa - 27 kinds of scoop ice cream (two were sold out at the time of visiting), 5 kinds of soft-serve ice cream, 5 original parfaits, and a selection of 7 soft drinks. In terms of the ice cream at Blue Seal, singles are 310 yen, doubles 500 yen. Parfaits in the 380 yen - 510 yen range. Soft drinks; Small 110 yen / Medium 220 yen. Service at the Kokusai Dori branch of Blue Seal was fast, friendly and efficient, and there’s plenty of English signage around, befitting of the “international” street where the store is located. Indoor seating is available as is seating at a minute terrace that fronts the street. On the terrace - it’s so small that you’d find it hard to imagine anyone ever using it. Maybe it’s just for decoration. The interior is nothing to write home about and isn't really the kind of place where you want feel like getting settled for a while. We ordered our ice creams and ate them outside as we wandered around Kokusai Dori. The branch of Blue Seal is right in the heart of the Kokusai Dori action, about 500 m southwest of Makishi station. Not much else to say about it, other than it’s got itself a great location and is a fine enough place to grab a quick ice cream as you explore central Naha. Hours: 10:00 - 22:30
