Delicious lunch, proper Guinness
Aoyama-dori has many eateries, but they’re often expensive and upscale. Noi is a casual and friendly cafe-bar across from Aoyama Gakuin, and perhaps that’s why it’s cheap and good. The lunch menu has four kinds of curry - keema, curry of the day, butter chicken, and coconut mackerel curry with coriander and lemon. The butter chicken at ¥650 is limited to 10 customers a day. I had the mackerel curry which was served with a flavorful coconut sauce over seasoned rice. The dinner menu includes fish and chips, beef simmered in Guinness, and tandoori chicken. Besides proper pints of Guinness, medicinal drinks, liqueurs, and spirits are on offer.
