Safflower Picking Field

Safflower festival spot

This is one of three principal safflower fields in Okegawa City. Safflower is the flower of Okegawa City and the area around Shiroyama Park is known for the flower and for the annual safflower festival mid June. This field is usually the picking field during the festival, where you can pick safflowers for a nominal fee (usually 50 yen) during the festival. Its a great festival, with lots of activities, festival stalls and usually an hot air balloon.
