A Chiba favorite for pastries and bread

Marond is a very local chain of 12 bakery cafes based in Chiba City. When I was passing through Kemigawa Ward, I stopped at Shin-Kemigawa Station's Marond to take a break and a snack. I had an anpan that fit in the palm of my hand. It's filled with umami and sweet an made by a local specialty sake brewer. The bread is a bit pricier than other chain bakeries, but the quality and presentation are very good. The bakeries use domestic bread flour and dairy in their bread loaves. They also go all-out for holidays with festive sweets and gift packages. The dine-in space at this location is small and when it's busy you may have to share a table.
