    Mizumoto Park, Tokyo's largest

Mizumoto Park in Katsushika Ward, not far from Kanamachi Station, is noted for being the largest green space in Tokyo. On the opposite side of the river is another 16 hectare park in neighboring Saitama Prefecture, called Misato Park. The continuous park landscape means that you don't see the typical Tokyo skyline at all - just water, riverside grasses, trees, and open sky. The park is bordered by an avenue of Lombardy poplars planted in the 1970s, and there is a large stand of dawn redwoods, living fossils discovered in China, and now thriving at Mizumoto Park. You'll also see native water lilies and irises blooming in their seasons. It's an amazing space for being so unlike imagined Tokyo landscapes. You'll also see water features and spaces to play, picnic and stroll.

    Mizumoto Park

The Mizumoto park is 20 minuts away from Kanamachi Station on foot. The park is very big and has a great variery of birds and ducks. The are many places for watching birds. Also there is a nature area garden where kids can learn about nature and the animals who lives there. The park is along a big river where you can enjoy a bootride, do hanami party or play hide and seek in the small forrest. It is really a nice adventureplace for kids. There are also some small food stores which sell lunch or snacks for the day.
