Pricy Fast Food
In North America, Taco Bell is associated with "cheap", even if they are not always the most delicious fast food. The ones in Japan, however, do not really work the same way as I would not necessarily call them cheap if you are really trying to fill yourself up. There are some cheaper sets around 500 - 600 yen, but the size of the tacos are usually not enough and I end up getting more food, racking the bill up to a price for some decent tacos instead. If you are going for a taste of comfort food, sure, but there are definitely better tacos and better fast food in town.

Craving Tacos!
Only when I’m craving tacos, I drop by Taco Bell. Like any other fast food chain, you can get a combo including fries and soft drink options. I usually go for taco supreme crunch. Decently priced and taste wasn’t disappointing. So, I would recommend it for quick bites.

Temper your expectations - especially regarding price
For anyone who loves the Tex-Mex fast food chain Taco Bell in the States, you'll probably be happy to know it exists here in Japan too. This location in Shibuya has your favorite tastes from home (crunchwrap supremes, quesadillas, tacos, etc), but the price point will give you a bit of sticker shock. There's also now another store in Shibuya at Miyashita Park which opened this year, if you're closer to that one. Enjoy!

Not an American Taco Bell
Thinking of the Taco Bell in America and coming to a Taco Bell in Japan, it's a completely different dining experience. Taco Bell in the States isn't an expensive or fancy dining experience, whereas in Japan it's a pricy and kind of hip place to go. But, anywhere I can get a chalupa in Japan, I'm happy. Though, my chalupa wasn't fresh, which was a disappointment considering that I paid a good amount of money for it. The meals also come with either fries or chips. I recommend the Mexican fries. Another rarity is that you can refill your drink with soda or juice as many times as you like. You can order in English. The cashiers are pretty proficient. You can also save your receipt and fill out a survey to get a discount for your next visit. There's also free wifi.
