I am always a bit hesitant to get a hair cut in Japan since Japanese barbers don’t typically deal with foreigner’s hair. There’s only two places I trust to get a cut, and the one in Tokyo is Hair Salon Kobari. The barbers here put the greatest level of care and detail into your cut and have enough experience with foreigners’ hair to handle any style you may desire. Another thing I like about this place is that they put great care into making sure that you can get a cut and go straight back to work without getting hair all over your suit or other business attire. A shampoo and cut takes about an hour. The best part? For all of this in a downtown Tokyo location, it only costs 4500 yen. (May sound like a lot, but that’s on the low end for a Minato-ku joint!)
