    Jarringly Cute, Decent Food

If you're looking to eat something decidedly un-Kyoto, there is a strip of character shops along the way to Arashiyama's bamboo trail. One of the shops is a cafe dedicated to the Rilakkuma property and is a surprisingly decent place to eat. The menu's choices are admittedly a bit limited, but each has its uniqueness. We ordered omelet rice and a curry rice plate and were served a reasonable time after. We got a stack of pancakes that came only after we finished the main dishes as well. The design of each plate was worth the wait anyway, and the presentation wasn't let down by the flavour of the food. My only con for the restaurant is its price. Since it is a character cafe, it's quite logical that the price of the experience is a bit on the expensive side for what you get. There is also an outside area in the back of the shop. The area is quite nice, and you can take a photo with the stone Rilakkuma. There are seats in this area too, so if you decide to take a drink out on a warm day from the shop, the option is there.

In the Area

Ukyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto

Regret that I didn't see more of it
