Saitama City Chipmunk House

Don't stand on the chipmunks!

The name of this attraction in Saitama City is "Risu no Ie" which means Chipmunk House. However, the whole thing is outdoors not in a house. Also, it is not quite a zoo either as it is really small. Despite that it is a really fun place to visit. The chipmunks run wild and free within the enclosure. There are about 300 of them. They are tiny little things. There are signs everywhere to tell you to be careful not to stand on the chipmunks. It could easily happen if you weren't taking care. Because they just dart out on to the footpath. You wouldn't need too long here, but its housed within the Minuma Green Center park which currently has cherry blossoms in bloom. It would be a nice place to bring kids for cherry blossom and chipmunk watching!
