To avoid a transfer
When I want to avoid transferring multiple times I use Suehirocho station to get to Akihabara and Ochanomizu. I don't have as much need now to go to Tokyo for shopping, but it is useful that the station is relatively close to the Don Quijote Akihabara store. It's also one of the closest stations to Kanda Myojin Shrine. It might just be me, but I don't find the layout as convenient as other stations.

Stop on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line
Suehirocho Station is one of the stops on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, sandwiched between Kanda and Ueno-hirokoji Stations. It's a convenient stop if you're wanting to access the Akihabara area, but just keep in mind that there are two separate entrances/exits for either direction you're headed -- so when you board or alight the train, you want to make sure you know where you're going. I've never found it particularly crowded here, especially in comparison to Akihabara Station, and I think maybe the name throws travelers off because they don't know how close the two are to each other.
