Nanko Park

The Nanko Park is just 30 minutes on foot away from Shirakawa Station (Fukushima prefecture). You can also rent a bicycle at the station which will bring you way faster to the park. The park is around the very beautiful Nanko lake and gives you a nice view over the surronding mountains. The place is also perfect for a picnic or just a relaxing day in the sun. There are many benches and tables in the whole park area, fitting also for bigger families. It is also possible to rent a small boat and paddle over the lake, but watch out it can get very windy. There are also some nice restaurants and cafe at the lakeside. Most of them have a lake view and are perfect for a snack, lunch or dinner. The park is also very popular during the cherry blossom season, beause of the many Shidarezakura which are standing around the lake.
