Quaint but a bit chaotic

A very small tea and scones shop snuggled into the narrow store fronts of ninjō yokocho. I went late in the afternoon close to the end of the business day and tried their scones, being one of their selling points. The owner supplied a guide for how to enjoy them. After reheating the scones at home, the taste and texture was more like a biscuit than a scone to me. The scone was very crumbly, again more like cornbread or a dense biscuit, and the flavor was lightly sweet, but I highly recommend adding butter, jam, or marmalade to get the most out of the scones. The store is so small, you will never know if it’s going to be full or empty. The open hours are quite short, so if you’re interested in sitting down, I recommend calling ahead or arriving early.
