Walking distance to Urasa Station, kid friendly restaurant

Yamato Cafe (also known as Kitchen Yamato) is about a 15 minute walk from Urasa Station. There's parking on-site too, and the menu is broad. Meat dishes, pasta dishes, sandwiches, desserts - it's pretty much got something for most people's tastes. We like it here because it's kid friendly - there's a small kids play area with some toys and foam mats, and the tables are either Western style or Japanese style - the Japanese style ones are sectioned off into little rooms so it gives you a bit of privacy and limits the kids distractions while they eat.

Delicious and Versatile Cafe in Urasa (Minamiuonuma)

My wife and I had been wanting to try out Yamato Cafe for quite some time now, but we were always apprehensive with two young children. Still, we decided to give it a shot for lunch, and we were both glad we did. The atmosphere in the cafe is fantastic. The vaulted ceilings and wood accents all around make for an inviting venue, and they even had tatami rooms along with the standard table seating (tatami rooms are a godsend for folks with young children). The food was delicious. It was clear that the staff put a great deal of attention into every dish, while putting equal consideration into the pairings (soup and salad) for the set menus. Fantastic! The cafe is open for lunch and dinner, and it offers take-out coffees/drinks.
