The umami is strong in this one

The speciality of this shop is called "champonyaki", which is a type of yakisoba (fried noodles). It is simple, Japanese fast food, but the taste is really great thanks to the delicious sauce. They also serve regular yakisoba and okonomiyaki, and most of the main dishes are just 500 yen. The staff is very friendly and they have an English menu, which can also be found at their website. We happened upon this shop by chance while walking from Himeji castle to the station. It was quite late and off season, so it wasn't easy to find an open restaurant besides the typical chains, but we were lucky to discover Himeji Champon. If isn't fancy at all, but if you are looking to try some local, tasty and cheap food, this is the place to go! We will definitely be there again next time we visit Himeji.
