Beautiful Bodhi trees at otherwise unassuming temple
On my way to Hanno City recently I passed a temple in Hidaka with a few hydrangea visible in the car park. So on the way home I stopped off for a gander. The temple is called Shofukuji. I couldn't find much information about it online and on closer inspection there were just those handful of hydrangea in the car park - nothing to get excited about. However, there are three beautiful Bodhi trees on the temple grounds. And currently they are flowering yellow. Prayer plaques "Ema" are displayed on one of the buildings on the grounds with the kanji "me" for eyes, so I assume eye health is the benevolence of the temple. There is a large car park, a toilet, an area to sit - I noticed it has an ashtray too! If there was a vending machine, I missed it!
