The only one in the world
If you've been to any other Disney resort in the world, I recommend visiting Disneysea over Disneyland when visiting Japan. Because it is the only Disneysea in the world. However, if you are going to be visiting Disney for the very first time ever, I'd actually recommend Land over Sea. Because I think Disneyland has more of the Disney magic than Disneysea. As Disneysea is sea themed, there are quite a few boat rides and / or attractions. In addition, rather than a parade like they have in Disneyland, Disneysea's show is on the sea. Occasionally they have parades, but more often than not they have shows. I personally prefer the parades to the shows. There was a time when Disneysea was a lot less busy than Disneyland, but I don't think that is true anymore. Expect crowds, queues and chaos! I recommend you use the App to get the most out of your visit.

More fun than Disneyland
I don't know if it's because I've had the chance to go to several Disneylands (California, Hong Kong, and Tokyo), but I really appreciate the novelty of DisneySea -- it has something that the Disneyland parks just don't. I've been both before I had kids and after, and enjoyed both experiences thoroughly. There are some really great rides, but I think the atmosphere is the best part about it! Ticket prices vary a bit depending on the type of pass you get -- you can choose from full day passes to things like evening passes that are cheaper since they're more time-limited.

Disney in all its glory
Visiting Tokyo DisneySea was my first trip to a Disney park in decades. The last one I went to was California's Disneyland and I barely even remember that. So, this experience was practically new to me. Luckily, I went with a few seasoned Disney vets so they took care of most of the logistics thankfully. Wanting to get the most of the day, we went via bus from Yokohama Station. It was a bit pricey but for the convenience, it was worth it. Plus, we went early so it was nice to snooze in a seat without worrying about missing a transfer or stop. The only problem was that the line was so long! We had to wait for two buses to fill up before we finally got our seats. Thankfully they come quite frequently so we weren't too delayed. I was expecting more of a security check, but there was none. Even though we arrived after opening, it wasn't too crowded. We had ordered the tickets ahead of time through Lawson's Loppi service, so after picking them up we could head in. The first thing we did was get the Fast Passes. Next, we checked out all of the food options available. There are tons of lists of the "must try" foods of DisneySea (and Land) so refer to one of those if you're out of ideas. The lines looked long, but everything was run very effectively and we could get the food quickly. Everything I had tasted delicious, except for the alien mochi balls. I wasn't a fan for some reason. Keeping an eye on the time, we got another Fast Pass ticket as well as got to ride our first ride. The daytime was mostly spent taking pictures and eating. The night is when we lined up for the rides. Unfortunately, those waits were pretty long. But, when you're with a bunch of friends, it's not so bad! Overall, this was a great Disney experience. I was a bit hesitant going because people say that it's really crowded. But, I think with a bit of good planning and good company, you'll have a great time! I know I sure did and I can't wait to go back again.
