Beautiful cathedral, overpriced admission
Oura Cathedral is a gorgeous structure that holds the title of being Japan’s oldest existing wooden church. To get up close to the cathedral or look inside will set you back 1000 yen which I personally thought was a bit steep - in hindsight knowing that I would probably have just taken pictures from outside. There is a small museum area attached which has religious artifacts and artwork from the cathedral on display. Indoor photos are prohibited so bear that in mind when it comes to forking out for the admission fee as well.
