Shutendoji Shrine

Lovely in autumn

Shutendoji Shrine is located in the Tsubame area of Niigata, and if you happen to be in the area during autumn it's a really lovely spot for the changing leaves. It's only about a 10 minute drive from Yahiko Park and Yahiko Shrine (a couple of much better known autumny spots here in Niigata), so if you're looking for lots of beauty but not as many people this is a solid spot. The photo is from a visit I took in a previous year, but I would recommend the November timeframe (it's a little too early just yet!)
