    Crowded but Convenient

I have used this terminal quite a lot when I used to travel for a long-distance relationship. This terminal is good as it is quite clear where you have to go. You can also wait indoor instead of standing in the cold as most other stops are. The washrooms can get crowded, and the tiny convenience store has crazy long line ups too even when all you want to get is a drink. With that said though, there is still an indoor waiting room and that is already a lot more than other highway bus terminals.

    Easy to navigate bus terminal

The Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal is situated across the road from Shinjuku Station itself, with the bus departure area being up on the 4th floor. It's quite easy to navigate, with plenty of screens indicating bus departure times and locations - similar to what you'd expect to find at an airport. Departure areas are given a letter and number coding, so you head to the "gate" designated for your bus. I found that the bus terminal seemed to function very efficiently, and similar to the train network here everything seemed to be departing on time - refreshing for public transport if you're used to buses in other countries! It's also easy to access if you're headed to Shinjuku Station on other JR lines - just follow the signage and it's pretty straight forward from there.
