Kisai Castle

Best enjoyed from a distance!

Kisai Castle in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture, looks so picturesque from a distance. Unfortunately up close it reveals the disappointing truth: it is just a replica castle and not a particularly good one either. However, the small park in which it stands is quite pretty and peaceful. Water lilies grow in the park in May and there are some hydrangea on the grounds in June. Moreover, across the road there is a mound from the original castle grounds. There are some facilities for locals on the grounds too, such as a learning center. You can actually normally tour the interior of the replica castle too. However, due to the pandemic they are currently not giving tours.
