Central concert and conference venue

Sonic City is just a few minutes walk from Omiya Station and easy to spot with the big plaza in front. I sometimes attend concerts there. The acoustics in the large hall are good. During intermissions, you can rest on bench seating that line the huge windows of the atrium looking out over the street. I find this convenient for reading concert programs. Some Google Maps reviewers didn't like the seating, but I suspect that was a while ago. The seats are comfortable with footlights and handholds at the ends of rows. The large hall has some wheelchair-accessible seats and toilet facilities, too. The building has meeting rooms, event spaces, and exhibition halls that are available at fees that vary by time of day (the smallest meeting room accommodating 12 is about 6000 yen/hour). A fun point - the profile of the building housing the large concert hall is shaped like a grand-piano.
