Ikaho Shrine

Worth the climb

Ikaho Shrine is located in the Ikaho Onsen area of Gunma, and while it does take a bit of a hike to get to the top (365 steps!) I thought it was worth it. The trek affords you with some great views out over the surrounding area, and the shrine itself is meant to be a place where you can pray for good fortune. It was particularly scenic on the autumn day we visited on, with lots of colorful foliage to enjoy on the precincts, so I'd definitely say if you're up for the climb to check it out.
