Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park

Of Rugby World Cup fame

Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park is a vast recreational park in Northern Saitama. Some of the facilities and pitches were used during the Rugby World Cup in 2019. Apart from dozens of sporting facilities the park also has several other facilities and services such as playgrounds (at least two), water play, seasonal flowers, a cafe ... even a hotel! It is managed very well so that the parking lots for the stadium and much used sporting facilities are completely separate to the recreational side of the park. So even when there is a big sporting event on in the park, you can avoid the traffic if you just want to play in the park.
