Stunning autumn color
If you're an autumn color chaser, another great spot in the Ikaho area in addition to Mizusawa Kannon is Ikaho Forest Park. They're in close proximity to each other, so it's easy to visit them both in the one trip. The park has various hiking trails, but we were really there to simply enjoy the fall foliage -- and it didn't disappoint. I've only visited in autumn, but the park is famous for its springtime azaleas. I'd like to head back at some point to appreciate those in the future as well.
