Delicious baked goods
On my way to and from work, I often stop by here at the west exit of Kasukabe Station to pick up lunch, a snack, or a loaf of bread. The smell of the bread often wafts onto the train platform, so it’s very tempting. Hokuo bills itself as a Scandinavian bakery. I don’t know how Scandinavian the offerings are, but they’re delicious. Favorites are the Camembert-walnut bun and tuna-lotus root bun. They also have sandwiches and stock juice, spring water and drinking yogurt. Pick up a point card while you’re there. Spend ¥300 and you get points towards a ¥200 discount. An English menu is available if you struggle with reading Japanese.
